Koreans usually have stubbornly straight type 1 hair and they rely on layers to add depth and dimension to their tresses. There are many ways in which you can get similar Korean hair layers.

Jessica Noonan, a hair stylist, says, “Razor haircutting is a versatile and effective way to add texture and personality to straight hair, and can be a great option for anyone looking to switch up their style. This technique is particularly effective for straight hair, as it can help to add volume, movement, and dimension to otherwise flat or lifeless locks. By creating uneven, choppy ends, razor cutting can also give hair a more natural, lived-in look that is ideal for messy, undone hairstyles.”

Korean hairstyles are immaculate and gorgeous, exactly like the Korean beauty industry. They are quite imaginative and can give your persona a sensitive aspect, or they can even look quirky unexpectedly; you never know! As a result, they are getting much attention from women worldwide. Here are the top 52 Korean hairstyles compiled and discussed for you. Take your time now to determine which ones you want to add to your wish list to try. We all have experimented with our hair. Every year we see new hairstyles, and sometimes, we even see some of the old ones making their entry again. Yes, we are talking about perm hairstyles that used to be one of the hottest hair trends in the 80s. And guess what? It has come back, but with a twist. You no longer have to undergo harsh hair treatments to get that perfect perm look. With advanced technology in hairstyling, you can have that look without compromising your hair health.

“My recommendation is the American Wave Permanent Texture Service,” says Nick Arrojo. “American Wave creates soft, natural-looking wave and curl patterns for today’s style-conscious client. Whether you want to increase volume, make curls, or add beach waves, this professional service offers the permanent creation of texture. The system uses editorial hair setting techniques for fashionable looks. The ionic waving lotion reduces stress on hair, smooths the cuticle, and encourages wave and curl patterns that are tailored to the characteristics of each person.”

So, what are you waiting for? Get your hair permed and flaunt it in style without any worries! In this article, we have listed some of the best permed hairstyles for you to try. Keep reading to know more!

  • Look for hair salons that specialize in perming. Go to your perm appointment with 2-day-old hair. Your stylist will use a neutral clarifying shampoo to deeply cleanse your scalp to allow better penetration of the perm solution.
  • The first hair wash must be done 3 days after the treatment.
  • Avoid blow-drying permed hair. Let them air-dry.
  • Limit heat styling. If you must use heating tools, use them at the lowest settings so that your perm does not get fried.
  • Short hair perms can last for 3-4 months with proper hair care. Long hair perms can last 5-6 months.

The first version of the perm was made in 1870 by Marcel Grateau, a French hairstylist. But it was Swiss hairdresser Karl Nessler who made the modern version of the perm that involved using a chemical solution and heat to style the hair.

How To Perm Hair?

Perming techniques have changed over the years, and thankfully, for the better. Back in the ‘80s, perming was the leading cause of hair damage caused due to the harsh chemicals that were used back then. But beauty does not have to be a pain anymore, because, thanks to modern science, you no longer have to sacrifice the health of your hair to stay stylish. You, technically, can perm your hair at home, but I would recommend you go to a professional to save you the effort and from dabbling with all those intimidating chemicals. So, before we jump into our ideas and inspirations for permed hair looks, let’s talk about what the perming process actually involves:

  1. Your hair is washed thoroughly to remove any dirt and to allow the perming agent to enter your hair shaft easily. (Is it just me or does everyone feel like a millionaire heiress when they get their hair washed at the salon? Just me? Okay.)
  2. Now, the disulfide bonds(that determine the texture of your hair) have to be broken to make the hair more “flexible”, so to speak. For this, a perming lotion is applied to your hair. The perming lotion will differ depending on the kind of perm you are getting – acid, alkaline or exothermic perm.
  3. As the perming lotion works its magic to loosen the disulfide bonds in your hair, your hair is tightly wrapped around curling rods to redefine their structure and curl them up.
  4. The amount of time that your hair is left in the curling rods depends on four things: the thickness of the hair, the texture of your hair, the condition of your hair, and the desired result.
  5. The curling rods are then removed from your hair and a neutralizer is applied to rejoin the disulfide bonds in your hair into its new curly structure.
  6. The neutralizer is washed out of your hair, and you are advised to not apply any heat, shampoos, or other hair products to your hair for the next couple of days.

African-American hairstylist Marjori Joyner created a dome-shaped helmet in 1928 that used electrical current to heat up and style hair. First, it was used for straightening the coily hair of African-American women. Later, it was used to tighten curls to Caucasian women’s hair.

OK, now that we have got all the boring stuff out of the way, let’s jump into our top picks for perm hair ideas and naturally curly haired women that you could take inspiration from when getting your hair permed!

You know what they say – go big or go home. And with this perm job, you will definitely be going big. These tight and bouncy curls created by a spiral job look as magnificent as they are. 4. Looks-Quite-Natural Perm

As the title suggests, this kind of perm looks quite natural. The curls in this style are a result of using really narrow curling rods during the perming process. Considering how much girls bemoan the frizz that they are cursed with, it’s amazing how beautiful the frizz created by brushing out this perm looks.

5. Mohawk Perm

What’s better than one hair transformation? A double hair transformation, of course! A Mohawk is a cool and daring style to sport by itself. But adding a root perm to it will take your badass factor to a whole new level. Moreover, the shaved, straight sides create a marvelously striking contrast against the tight, voluminous curls at the top.

6. Big Mane Spiral Perm

Ain’t nothing sexier than super defined ringlet curls that shoot off in all directions of their own accord. Perm styles will lift your hair from- you guessed it- your roots. The end result is loads of volume around your head and bouncy curls that could bring anyone who beholds them to their knees.

8. Mid-Length Diffused Perm

I know, I know. What’s the point of getting a perm if you have to dry them with a diffuser, right? But, hear me out. Diffuse drying your perm is the best way to build up texture and expansion. It opens up your curls and creates some beautiful definition in them. Besides, there’s something about jet black curls that is incomparable to any other style.

9. Bushy Perm

OK, I know, in a world that is governed by Eurocentric standards of beauty, bushy hair is considered “bad”. But, look at the gorgeous head of hair on that girl! You don’t always need to subject your permed hair to a myriad of hair products to get those perfectly defined curls. Sometimes, you can just let it air-dry and brush it out to create a beautiful and bushy mane.

10. Crazy Multi Textured Perm

Gone are the 80s, when each curling rod had to be inserted precisely to get a head of tight, perfect curls. It’s the 21st century, and messy hair is all the rage! This multi-textured perm involves using curling rods of different sizes to create messier and more natural-looking curls.

11. Rough Partial Perm

Who says that you can only go for tight curls when getting a perm? Getting some relaxed waves is also a completely viable option, thanks to the digital perm. 19. Short Wavy Perm

A perm can add tons of volume to your hair and work great to reduce the roundness of your face and accentuate your angles.

DJ Vashtie has created quite a name for herself in the New York music scene. Besides her sick tunes, a standout feature of this powerhouse of talent is her long glossy curls. You could go in for a cold spiral perm on long hair to get her look.

Mexican supermodel Luz Pavon is an inspiring entrepreneur in her own right. But what got her to the top of the fashion industry is her thick, curly hair that she used to endorse many hair products. A hot perm with wide curling rods is just what you need to imitate her fabulously bouncy curls.

At just 17, Danish model Frederikke Sofie has firmly established herself in the modeling world. A large part of her success (besides sheer hard work, of course) has to do with her ravishing golden curls that lend an air of ethereal quirkiness to her look. You could go for a cold stacked or spiral perm with small curling rods if you want to take a page out of her hair look book.

Here’s another 17-year-old who is giving us some major envy. Alanna Arrington may just be at the beginning of her modeling career, but she has already opened for Altuzarra at New York Fashion Week this past year. Her gorgeous curls may well be natural, but you can get her look by going for a cold root perm and a bob cut with straight cut bangs.

If there is one thing that makes Juno Temple stand out in a slew of conventional looking actresses, it’s her untamed mane. Her naturally blonde and tightly wound curly hair is truly a thing of beauty. You can achieve her look by getting a spiral perm done on your hair and cutting a few curls in the front to get some wispy bangs.

41. Hot Root Perm

Kangana Ranaut may be a Bollywood actress, but she is renowned all over the world for her work (and her beauty). More importantly, her wildly curly tresses have brought about a revolution in the Hindi film industry’s beauty standards that believed in heavily styling one’s hair. A hot root perm done on long hair is exactly what you need to get her look.

Knowing how to perm hair without damaging it is crucial. The process is simple. First, the perming lotion is applied, and the hair is tightly wrapped around curling rods. After removing the curling rods, a neutralizer is applied to the hair and washed off after a while – this offers a perfect permed look. Blonde spiral perm, bushy perm, crazy huge perm, bleached blonde perm bob, relaxed waves perm, and big mane spiral perm are some of the hairstyles you can try with permed hair.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a perm last?

Usually, a perm lasts three to six months. But it depends on the hair type and how one takes care of a perm.

Can you perm gray hair?

Since gray hair tends to be resistant, your hairstylist might need to go for an alkaline-type perm as it gives a well-defined curl to the resistant hair.

Is a perm good for thin hair?

The spot perm is ideal for thin hair. It only focuses on one or two spots and lets the rest of the hair be. Therefore, there is barely any hair damage.

How often should I wash permed hair?

You can wash your hair once a week with warm water. But do not forget to use dry shampoo between the washes whenever the roots begin to feel dirty.

If you have a round face, you know the time and effort it takes to search for hairstyles that make your face look thinner rather than wide. It can be very irritating, especially for those special days you want to look like a goddess, like your wedding day. So, we made a list of the best bridal hairstyles for round faces.

Imagine this, you are asleep, dreaming of your wedding day. You have the perfect flowing wedding dress, your shoes (although hidden) look glamorous, but you feel your hair sticking to your face making its round shape all the more evident! *Gasp* You want a hairstyle that cuts the width of your face shape, enhances your facial features, and highlights your makeup. Instead of looking rounder, your hairstyle should make your face look leaner and longer.

While it may sound impossible, it is pretty easy to achieve with the right hairstyle! So keep reading to check out some shape-altering hairstyles to make your round face look even better! But first, do you know if you have a round face? Keep reading to find out!

  • Styling your hair with wispy, choppy, or feathered layers will take the attention off your face shape and draw focus to your facial features. Especially adding some wisp in your face at its widest point will thin your face.
  • Compare your bridal hairstyle with other inspirations and check with a stylist before you go ahead with a hairstyle. Always do a trial run of the style before your D-day.
  • Part your hair on the side rather than in the middle. A center part can make your forehead and cheeks appear more prominent, which can be undesirable.
  • If you have a round face, add more height to your hairstyle at the crown to elongate your face shape and improve your overall look.
  • Opting for loose curls with stray strands framing the face will have a slimming effect on your face shape.

How To Know If You Have A Round Face

  • Measure the widths of your forehead, cheeks, and jawline.
  • Measure the length from your hairline to the tip of your chin.
  • If the broadest width is equal to the length of your face, you have a round face.
  • Also, your jawline will be soft and round rather than angular.

Now that you’ve determined your face is indeed a round shape, here are a few pointers to keep in mind.

Keys To Picking A Good Hairstyle For Round Faces

  • Bangs, especially blunt bangs, shorten the face and will make it appear wider. Side bangs or wispy bangs are the safe options for a round face.
  • Long straight hair with layers works like magic for women with round faces. The layers add focus to the jawline, giving it more structure.
  • Long full curls and waves are excellent choices for round faces. The full curls and waves add volume to the hair, giving your face a thin appearance.
  • If you’re going for a short hairstyle, try the textured lob. Let the back be short, and the front should be at or below the jawline. A lob is always a better choice than a bob. An A-Line lob, and especially one that’s longer in the front will lengthen your neck.
  • If you’re considering a bun, go for a bun with layers as that will add volume to your hair and make your face look slim. Place the bun up high to add the illusion of more length.

Creative Director of Paul Labrecque Salon and Skincare Spa, Paul Labrecque says, “If you want to add bangs to your hairstyle a deep side part with a swooping side bang is most flattering. If you really want to wear or keep a middle part, a curtain bang will thin out a wide forehead and give your face some length.”

protip_icon Quick Tip
If you have short curly hair, you can go for big bangs that swoop down and cover the top half of your face.

What To Avoid When Picking A Hairstyle For A Round Face

  • Avoid blunt haircuts (the entire hair being the same length) without a fringe as they make your face look larger than it is.
  • Choose short hairstyles at your own risk. I’m not saying that short hairstyles are bad for women with round faces, but they all might not be suitable. If you have a thin round face, a short hairstyle will look good. Really short hairstyles are a no-no for round-faced women.

Paul Labrecque adds, “Short hairstyles for this face type should have some wispy layers placed in the face. A gamine look/style rather than a crop cut is less harsh and more face-thinning.”

protip_icon Quick Tip
Also, avoid short bangs as they will make your round face appear even rounder.

The primary hair trend in bridal hairstyles is a stylish bun, a cool braid, or leaving your hair down. Chignon hairstyles are also trending right now. For your benefit, I’ve also added some DIY styles – so you can try them out yourself and see which one suits you best. Try out all these hairstyles at least two months before your wedding to pick the one that looks the best.

In addition, use hair extensions, which can also be used to add volume and length to your hair. Depending on your hair texture, you may opt for loose waves, hair braids, or a sleek and straight style. If you want to experiment with hair color or highlights, be sure to do so well in advance of your wedding day.

These 20 hairstyles will work for you – whether you have your hair covered or left uncovered. If you decide to go au naturel, remember to have some loose hair fall on your face.

Here are some hair care tips to help you prep for the D-day.

Hair Care And Maintenance

  • Start your hair care regimen at least two to three months before your wedding day.
  • Use a blend of castor oil and coconut oil to get voluminous hair.
  • Deep condition your hair at least three times a week.
  • Shampoo your hair on alternate days.
  • Use a conditioner regularly as that will moisturize your hair and keep it luscious.

Note: Consider using hair straightening products to tame frizz and add shine, and be sure to use high-quality hair products that will keep your style looking fresh.

Some hairstylists will ask you to wash your hair while others will do it for you on the day of the wedding. So, find out what your hairstylist prefers. If your hairstylist has asked you to wash your hair, follow these steps the night before the wedding day:

  • Massage your hair with warm oil and leave it on for 1-2 hours.
  • Wash your hair first when you go for a bath. After that, deep condition your hair and cover it with a shower cap.
  • Allow your hair to air dry.

You can also use hair accessories to amp up your hairstyle. Here are a few ideas.

How To Measure Your Facial Dimensions

How to measure face dimensions for choosing a hairstyle for oval face
Image: Shutterstock
  • Using a regular scale or a measuring tape,
  • measure the width of your forehead at its widest point. For most people, it is at the halfway point between the hairline line and eyebrows.
  • Measure the width of your cheeks from ear to ear, beginning and ending at the points where your ears are connected to your face.
  • Next, measure between the widest points of your jaw.
  • Finally, measure the length of your face, beginning at your hairline and ending at the tip of your chin.

Follow the steps given below to determine whether you have an oval face.

Do You Have An Oval Face?

  • The length of your face is greater than its width.
  • You have a large forehead and a semi-pointed jawline.
  • Your jawline is not entirely pointed; it’s more angular.
  • You have a narrow jawline and forehead that are about the same width.
  • Your cheekbones are soft and angular.

Now that you know you have an oval face, here are some pointers to look out for when picking your hairdos.

Focus Points

    • Having an oval face means a large forehead. Make sure the hairstyle you pick covers your forehead at least partially. This draws attention to your cheeks, jawline, and neck.
  • Go for a small pouf rather than a large one. Poufs are meant to add height to your face, so they can make your face look longer than needed.
  • Show off your cheekbones by picking loose hairstyles where you can tuck your hair behind your ears.
  • Parting your hair down the middle will make your face appear longer than it is. Try slight side partings or a zig-zag middle parting.
  • Messy hairstyles like top knots work wonders for oval faces as they make your hair look voluminous.
  • Bangs! When in doubt, go for bangs. All types of bangs work with oval faces. It simply depends on which facial feature you want to flaunt.
  • While people with other face shapes have to be careful when picking short hairstyles, you don’t have to worry about this problem as all short hairstyles look great on oval face shape.

Now that you’re up to speed with everything you need to know about the oval face shape and how to pick flattering hairstyles for it, let’s explore some incredible hairstyles that you can try out.

protip_icon Before You Get Started
  • Finding hairstyles that compliment any face shape can be tricky. However, the oval face shape is the easiest in this regard as most hairstyles look good on it.
  • Your choice of a perfect hairstyle can be narrowed down based on your hair texture. Go for a shaggy look if you have curly hair and a sleek cut if you have straight hair.
  • If you want to color your hair, besides face shape, you must also consider your skin tone and eye color.

How To Measure Facial Dimensions

Types of face shapes
Image: Shutterstock

Face shapes are the reason certain hairstyles look good on some people but not on others. And it’s not just limited to hairstyles. It’s how you apply your makeup or pick your glasses too. Face shapes are everything! They’re also the reason you have to be very careful when you go for a haircut.

  • For measurements, you can use a regular scale or a curved scale. You can also use a rope or thread to measure your face and then place it on a scale to see the dimensions.
  • First, check the width of your forehead. Find the widest point of your forehead. For most people, it should be midway between the hairline and eyebrows.
  • Check the width of your cheeks. Measure just under the eyes from ear to ear.
  • Next, measure the widest points of your jaw.
  • Finally, take the longitudinal measurement of your face, beginning at your hairline and ending at the tip of your chin.

So, how do you know if your face is diamond-shaped?

Do You Have A Diamond Face?

Diamond face shape
Image: www.liveabout.com

You have a diamond face if:

  • Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face.
  • Your jawline is more pointed than angular. This is what sets a diamond face apart from an oval face.
  • You have a narrow jawline and forehead that are about the same width.
  • Your hairline is narrower and tapers just like your jawline. (The significant difference between a diamond face and a heart-shaped face is the hairline.)
  • Your cheekbones are high and pointed.
  • You have a long forehead and jawline.
  • The length of your face is longer than its width.

Here are a few things you need to keep in mind when picking a hairstyle for your diamond-shaped face.

Focus Points

  • Take the attention off your cheekbones. Make sure the hair near your cheeks is flat and not voluminous. Focus on making your forehead and jawline seem a tad wider than they are.
  • Don’t add height to the hair at the top. This will make your face look longer than it is by making your jaw and forehead appear longer than they are. You can add a slight puff to the hair on top of your head, but make sure you have bangs to cover your forehead.
  • Add volume to the hair under the jawline to make it seem less pointed.
  • While the cheekbones are the fullest part of a diamond face, there are times when flaunting them works wonders. Show off your cheekbone structure by using hairstyles that tuck in behind the ears.
  • Consider blunt front bangs as they help shorten a long face.
  • Middle partings will help make a face appear longer than it is. Try side partings or a zig-zag middle parting.
  • Avoid one length or blunt bobs. They will amplify your angular features.
  • Curls add texture to the hair, which is what a diamond face needs. However, make sure that you don’t add curls near the cheeks as this will accentuate them. Instead, add volume near the forehead and under the chin. If you have full curly hair, your volume will get thicker as it grows and, in turn, soften the angular features of your face.
protip_icon Quick Tip
Diamond face shapes have a sharp jawline. Thus, you should avoid sharp layers near the chin as they can make your jawline look harsher. Also, avoid blunt bob cuts that end right near the chin.

Choosing a hairstyle is tricky for this face shape since it’s quite unique. But, don’t worry! We’ve compiled a list of what you need to focus on to get a good hairstyle.

Hairstyle Pointers

Bangs

Bangs are the trickiest to style compared to every other haircut. Take side-swept bangs, for example. One day, they may look great on you, but the next day, you might hate the way they look. It’s all about how you style them.

  • Side-swept bangs work well with diamond faces. Long and/or deep side-swept bangs also work. They cover the forehead partially, so the length of the forehead is well hidden and its width increases. They also help frame the eyes by bringing lateral focus to the face.
  • Middle partings make a face look longer. So, avoid them. Also, don’t add height to the crown as it adds length to the face.
  • Don’t try thick blunt bangs. They tend to accentuate the cheekbones. Since the cheekbones are the widest in a diamond face, you don’t need them to look any more full.
  • You have to be careful with long straight bangs. They look good when they’re feathered at the center, but full long straight bangs are not a good option.
  • You need to be careful with wispy bangs too. Feathered wispy bangs that are slightly parted at the center work well, but thick ones are a no-no.
  • Fauxhawk bangs are great. You will need to experiment to see whether short or long ones suit you.
  • Try bangs that taper on the sides. They help cover a narrow forehead but not the entire forehead altogether.
  • Baby bangs tend to work the best with short hairstyles or braids.
protip_icon Quick Tip
Light curtain bangs that are parted in the middle look great on a diamond face. Other bangs styles you can try are a feathered fringe, light side-swept bangs, and wispy side bangs as they frame this face shape very well.

Full Hair

  • Add curls to add texture and volume to your hair. If you’re curling only parts of your hair, curl near the forehead and under the chin. This will make your chin and forehead appear less angular and a little broad.
  • Choppy ends add the much-needed volume to your hair and soften your face.
  • Shag cuts look amazing on diamond faces. Shaggy layers help make the jawline and forehead appear shorter and a bit wider. However, this is not to be confused with the layered cut. The layered haircut is layered on the sides of your face. The shag haircut is at levels all around your head.
  • Short hairdos like a textured bob, a lob, and a pixie cut look gorgeous on diamond faces as they soften the jawline. Try wispy ends or a textured cut instead of keeping the ends blunt.
  • Consider long layers that start at the jawline. The layers bring dimension to your face by adding texture to your hair.

Accessories

Hair Colors

Darker roots with lighter tips tend to make a face appear longer, which is not what a diamond face requires. Instead, try highlights or lowlights that are spread evenly all over your hair. These need to be two shades lighter or darker than your natural hair color. Thick highlights also work well for this face shape.

Hair Clips

Pick hair accessories that clip your hair near your ears or clip your hair up at the center. If you are using big clips, use them at the back and not on the sides of your head.

Glasses

Since the diamond face shape is narrow at the eye line, you need to choose glasses that accentuate your eyes. Top-heavy frames, like semi-rimless frames or upswept frames that emphasize the eyebrows, are perfect for your face shape. Avoid small or narrow glasses that attract attention to the tight eye line. They will make your cheekbones appear wider than they are.

Now that you know what to look for and what to avoid when styling your hair for your diamond-shaped face, here are a few hairstyles that you can try out.

4. Side-Swept Pixie

One of the most popular haircuts, the pixie has been a clear favorite among celebs. Scarlett Johansson in this particular side-swept pixie looks absolutely stunning. The hairstyle conceals half of the forehead and softens the jawline, which balances the sharp features of a diamond face.

5. Minimal Half Updo

Channel your inner Greek goddess with this one! The half updo with a subtle bouffant adds length to a diamond-shaped face and accentuates her defined jawline. Emulate the look using a textured spray and backcombing the hair at the crown.

6. Side-Swept Hair

Side swept hairstyle for diamond faces

Luscious curly hair swept to one side looks gorgeous on a diamond face. Instead of pinning your hair down, pin it on one side near your ear. The curls add volume to your hair while also softening your features.

7. Slight Waves

Slight waves hairstyle for diamond faces

Camila Alves looks stunning. Usually, a middle parting is a strict no-no for women with diamond faces. But here, Camila has waves right near her cheeks, so the middle parting helps. The wavy hair adds volume to the texture of your natural hair. The idea is to make your jawline look broader so that your cheekbones are highlighted.

8. One Side Pinned Up Hair

One side pinned up hairstyle for diamond faces
Image: Shutterstock

This hairstyle is an edgy alternative for women who don’t want to risk shaving one side of their hair. The side swept bangs help reduce the length of the forehead. The length of the bob is just under the jawline, which makes the jawline appear broader.

9. Feathered Bangs

Feathered bangs hairstyle for diamond faces

Selma Blair sports bangs most of the time. And if you love front fringes, this is how you should sport them. Feather the bangs at the center to not conceal your forehead completely and avoid highlighting your cheeks. These bangs work well with a ponytail or a braid.

10. The Lob

The lob hairstyle for diamond faces
Image: Shutterstock

The lob is perfect for diamond faces. Keep the length below the chin as it softens the jawline. Another key here is to tuck one side of your hair behind your ear. This creates an asymmetrical look, which is flattering on diamond faces. Also, notice how the middle parting is used when the length of hair is below the jawline.

11. Side Parting With Wavy Hair

Vanessa Hudgens is fantastic and so is her hairdo. The big waves of this short bob help soften her face and focus on her eyes. The highlights all across her hair help frame her face.

12. Deep Side-Swept Bangs

Deep side swept hairstyle with bangs for diamond faces
Image: Shutterstock

Deep side-swept bangs are the best for a diamond face. They make a face look soft instead of pointy. The side-swept bangs cover the forehead, leaving only a little to be seen. This decreases the height of the forehead and draws attention to the eyes.

13. Low Bun With Deep Side Bangs

Low bun hairstyle with deep side bangs for diamond faces

The key to perfect updos like the one sported by Rosario Dawson here is not to add too much height at the crown. Pair deep side-swept bangs with a simple low bun. Keep this hairstyle a little loose to create a soft and romantic hair look.

14. Pinned Updo

If you are tired of flaunting bangs, this updo is for you. Twist your bangs in a slight puff and clip them back. Roll your hair into a bun and leave the ends to create this elegant look.

16. Scrunched Up Hair

18. Slight Side Parting

This slight side parting is a great alternative to middle partings. The slightly off-center parting gives her face a soft look and decreases the sharpness of her jawline. The light hair coloring near the cheeks gives it a slim look. The soft curls below the chin help soften the jaw.

19. Tight French Twist

Instead of adding height to the top of your hair, add more volume to your hair near your cheekbones. Adding bangs to your hairstyles is another way to flaunt a diamond face perfectly. Curls add more texture to your hair and give you a more voluminous look. Side and zig-zag partings decrease the length of your face. Pair your new hairstyle with some glamorous highlights, lowlights, ombre or balayage to see what suits you best. At first, these tips might be hard to remember, which is why we gave you a list of the 35 best hairstyles for diamond-shaped faces.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, medium-length hair till the shoulders perfectly complements a diamond face shape as it helps soften the angular features and jawline.

What is the best hair length for diamond face shapes?

Can I wear my hair curly or wavy with a diamond-shaped face?
